Now What?
Fill out the simple form we provide for you. Print out the completed form and keep it with your notes or inventors notebook. You'll also be able to print out a certificate of ownership with your name, date, and the title of your idea, and your ideainc registration number. You will be assigned an idea number; write this number on each page in ink in your notes or notebook. All of your work must be documented in notes or a notebook. You will be charged a registration fee of only $9.95
This my friends could be the best ten dollars you've ever spent. With your initial fee you will get one year storage of your idea, product or invention. You can choose from several different storage plans after that.
You will be required to identify your idea, product, or invention, NOT THE DETAILS OR SECRETS of your idea, product, or invention.
For example, under what your idea is you could put:
My idea for a better, faster, cleaner, or simpler potato peeler; or, My idea for the proper way to clone a really small dog; or, Words and music to my song.
BUT you should have your details in YOUR possession, written in ink, signed by two witnesses, dated, with date of conception, and include your ideainc registration number.
Your idea will be accessible to the public once it's registered at ideainc. It has to be accessible to be creditable, verifiable and provable.
But remember the public will only see the details you choose to reveal. Potential buyers or investors will be allowed to surf the registered ideas list. You may want to reveal enough about your idea to attract interest but not so much that you give it away, it's up to you. Potential buyers or investors will be able to contact you (but only if you choose this option.)
When a potential investor or developer contacts you through ideainc, they will know you have a registered, documented idea that belongs to you. You will have direct communication and dealings with potential investors. You can choose to reveal to them whatever details you want. ideainc will not be involved in this communication or dealings, as we are in the business of documentation only and our interest is helping you protect what is yours.
